Fury Wilder Boxing Betting Preview

It’s time to settle this “Once and for All.”

That’s how the third fight between the World Boxing Council and The Ring heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is being billed.

While this is the third fight in the trilogy between the two world-class boxers, it is the first chance for bettors in Arizona to place wagers on a big-money boxing match. Since the official launch of legal sports betting in the Grand Canyon State, UFC fights have taken most of the betting attention.

For generations, boxing was the heavy hitter in the sports betting world. Although times have changed over the years, the much-anticipated third act between Fury and Wilder is just what the sportsbooks are asking for.

Betting on boxing: What Arizonans can place sports bets on

Unlike wagering on football and basketball, betting on boxing doesn’t have any point spreads to throw money at. The bets you can make revolve around the result of the fight or the result of each round.

The first and most simple wager is to put money on who you think will win the fight. If you are new to sports betting, this might be the only bet you’ll want to make on this fight. But if you’re going to dive deeper, you can then bet on the method of the result. In other words, how your fighter wins the fight. You can win a boxing match by knockout (KO), technical knockout (TKO), disqualification (DQ), decision or technical decision.

You can also wager on how long the fight will last. This heavyweight championship clash between Fury and Wilder is scheduled to go 12 rounds with each lasting 3 minutes. So you can bet on if you think the bout will go past three rounds or if it will go the distance.

Experienced boxing bettors may want to explore the round-by-round betting odds. A boxer has an opportunity to win each round on points. So if you think a fighter will do better in rounds four, five and six, you can place bets on him to win those rounds both individually or altogether.

Some oddsmakers in Arizona now expect a similar result. According to DraftKings Arizona Sportsbook, the over/under for total rounds in the fight is 7.5. Meanwhile, BetMGM AZ has the over/under for rounds at eight.

Perhaps, though, you might want to take a flier on the fight ending in a draw once again. Most books have the fight result of a draw set at +2000 odds.

Arizona sports betting odds boosts, promos and specials for Fury-Wilder III

A fight of this magnitude is the perfect opportunity for sportsbooks to try and draw in new customers. Several sports betting apps in Arizona are offering new user promos for customers looking to place their first bets on this fight.

The latest DraftKings promo gives new users a $100 bonus if either fighter lands a punch. Meaning, if Wilder or Fury lands a punch, you will win $100 from a $1 wager. On DraftKings, you can also opt-in to get a 25% profit boost for any winning method bet on the fight.

Meanwhile, FanDuel Arizona is boosting the odds of the fighter a new user think is going to win. Wilder’s normal odds with FanDuel currently stand at +230, and Fury’s are -290. The FanDuel odds boost launches the odds of either fighter to +3000. So you can bet $5 on either Wilder or Fury, and if he wins, you will walk away with $150.

And new BetMGM customers in Arizona will get their first bet bonus up to $1,000. If your bet in the fight loses, get your wager amount up to $1,000 added back to your account in bonus bets. BetMGM is also offering several boosts on boxing props in the fight. That includes a boost on Wilder to win and on the fight to go the distance.
