DraftKings Sportsbook Arizona Asking Bettors To Hammer The Over On Bills-Patriots

DraftKings Sportsbook is giving bettors in Arizona a chance to nail the over/under on one of the wild card matchups of the NFL playoffs this weekend.

Fans in the Grand Canyon State will have a lot of focus on the Arizona Cardinals taking on the Los Angeles Rams. However, that game isn’t until Monday night. In the interim, DraftKings Sportsbook AZ is running a promotion highlighting the other postseason game that features two teams from the same division.

On Saturday, the Buffalo Bills will host the New England Patriots. These familiar AFC East foes will face off for the third time this season after splitting the first two games. But DraftKings customers aren’t thinking about wins and losses with this promo. This time around, it’s all about hammering the over.

DraftKings Sportsbook ‘Hammer the Over’ hits AZ for first time

The DraftKings ‘Hammer the Over’ promo is here for the NFL playoffs. It is the first time bettors in Arizona will have the opportunity to take advantage of this deal.

Here’s how it works. For every 5,000 customers who bet the over for Saturday night’s Bills-Patriots playoff game, the point total needed in the game will go down by 0.5 points. The good news: Your bet will cash based on the final adjusted total, not the total at which you placed your bet. So there is no disadvantage to putting your money down in advance.

The max you can bet using this promo is $25, placed on an over line of -110. Therefore, if your $25 bet wins, you’ll make a profit of $22.73. Throughout the state, Arizona online sportsbooks have regular over/under for the game at 44.

As of Friday afternoon, the over for the DraftKings promo has dipped to 22.5. That means three touchdowns and a field goal would get you a win. And that number will keep going down.

Pass the hammer on with DraftKings Arizona

For this promo to work, bettors will need a little bit of help from their friends. To get more people to put the hammer down on the over, DraftKings is offering an additional bonus.

After a customer hammers down the over, DraftKings will send them a link prompting them to pass the hammer to their friends. If the person you refer deposits between $25 and $49, both customers will get a $25 bonus bet. If your friend deposits between $50 and $99, you will both get a $50 bonus bet. And if they deposit $100, you both get a $100 bonus bet.

The referral bonus will only apply if you invite a new customer. That person must click on the link you send them for you to both get your bonus bets. We would all love to see the over for this game hammered down to 0. But on the chance that doesn’t happen, bettors will feel more comfortable if they see multiple touchdowns scored in this game.

Will Bills and Patriots hit the over?

The two previous meetings between the Bills and Patriots, both went over 22.5 total points. However, remembering their December Monday Night Football matchup in Week 13 might raise concerns.

The Patriots won that game 14-10 on the road in Buffalo. The weather played a massive role in the outcome. The two teams played in blustery conditions with 40 mph wind gusts. So there was a significant emphasis placed on the running game. In fact, New England only threw the ball three times but still managed to win.

Their second meeting in Week 16 saw much better weather conditions. Buffalo was able to win that game 33-21 in Foxborough. That is the kind of point total bettors are hoping for this time around.

Once again, the weather is becoming a key storyline for NFL betting in Arizona. According to The Weather Channel, temps won’t get out of the single digits all day. Once game time rolls around, it should be in the low single digits, near zero. With a 10 mph wind, it’s going to feel even colder, though maybe not as cold as that December game.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen played his college ball in Wyoming but is a California kid originally. He has played in snow games, but his numbers take a big hit when the temps are below freezing. Meanwhile, Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has never played a game below freezing while growing up in Florida and playing college football at Alabama.

Regardless of the weather, as long as DraftKings Sportsbook customers keep hammering the over, I would expect this promo to hit.
