Diamondbacks Game Day Guide

Spring brings warmer weather to The Grand Canyon State and baseball fans back to Chase Field for some Arizona Diamondbacks action.

Fans and Arizona sports bettors alike will be watching closely to see if the Diamondbacks can improve upon their last few seasons and find their way back into the MLB postseason for the first time since 2017.

If you’re planning on making a trip to downtown Phoenix, here’s a Diamondbacks game day guide on what you can expect this baseball season:

What to know before you leave for the game

Eighteen online sportsbooks are open to bettors in the state. Arizona sports betting also includes several retail sportsbooks, including one at the home of the Diamondbacks, Chase Field.

Before arriving at the game, make sure you have your phone fully charged with the MLB Ballpark app downloaded so you can have your tickets ready. Instructions for downloading the app and navigating it can be found here. Chase Field features a retractable roof. Updates on the roof status for every series can be found here, so plan accordingly.

The gates open 90 minutes before the first pitch Sunday through Thursday and two hours before games on Fridays and Saturdays.

Chase Field’s team shops are all cashless, so make sure you’re prepared with your credit or debit card. Reverse ATMs are available in sections 106, 128 and 322. Concessions can be ordered through the Ballpark app, which will send an alert when the order is ready for pickup.

Only clear bags are permitted inside the ballpark. The bags must be no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, or the size of a plastic gallon freezer bag. Small clutch purses are permitted but no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.

How to bet on the Diamondbacks

Arizona sports betting allows for gamblers to place wagers from anywhere through their mobile devices with betting apps like BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings Arizona and FanDuel. Chase Field also offers patrons the ability to place in-person wagers at the ballpark.

Wagers can be placed on the season win total and World Series odds, as well as an assortment of individual-game bets like moneyline, total runs and much more.

Betting at Chase Field

Betting can take place at Chase Field in a few ways. One such way is to place in-person wagers at ticket windows 21 through 25.

For more of an up-scale Arizona sports betting experience, head across the plaza from the main entrance of Chase Field to Caesars Sportsbook Arizona. Introduced last season, the facility offers sports bettors a place to bet and watch their favorite sports and enjoy food and drinks. Check out Guy Fieri’s DTPHX Kitchen + Bar, a full-service restaurant, located at the sportsbook.

The facility offers nine betting windows and 13 self-service kiosks, bolstered by wall-to-wall coverage from multiple flat-screen TVs and patio space with lounge-style seating options.

The sportsbook is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. The sportsbook will not be accessible to fans attending games.

What’s new at Chase Field?

New concessions at the ballpark include Black Rock Coffee Bar at section 110, Chick-Fil-A at sections 126 and 328, Crémily Dessert Bar at section 120, Scoopwell’s Dough Bar at section 106, Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt at section 322, and Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers located on the northwestern side of the ballpark.

One of the interesting new features this year is Big Dawgs Section 105’s menu. The stand features Diamondbacks Dogs all season long. They also feature a rotating cast of “Versus Dogs” all season. The menu will reflect a different style of dog depending on the opponent in town for the series.

What’s the parking situation?

Parking at Chase Field is cashless, including at the parking garages, so make sure to bring a credit or debit card. Parking can be reserved ahead of time here. Garages are located on the west and southwest sides of the ballpark.

For all the ridesharers out there, the pickup and dropoff locations are 5th Street north of Washington and Jackson Street east of 9th Street.
