How To Bet On The Arizona Wildcats

When you click on the College Football or NCAAF link at online sportsbooks, you’ll see a listing for all of the upcoming games. The odds for a Wildcats contest might look like this on the Unibet Arizona app:

  • Arizona Wildcats  +2.5 (-110)  +155  Over 52.5 (-110)
  • BYU Cougars         -2.5 (-110)  -175  Under 52.5 (-110)

From left to right next to the two team names are the odds for the three main pregame bets: spread, moneyline, and totals. All three bet types bring in plenty of action for college football games, but they’re not the only ways to get in on the action. Let’s take a look at all of the top ways to bet on the Wildcats and NCAAF in general.

Moneyline Betting

A moneyline bet is about as simple as it gets in sports betting. It refers to which team wins the game, though the payout is greater if you correctly predict the underdog to win than it would be if you correctly predicted the favorite to come away with a victory.

The moneyline bet is really simple and straightforward: if you make the right call on the winner, you win. Odds are negative for favorites and positive for underdogs with the range between the numbers telling you how close of a game is expected.

  • Arizona Wildcats +155
  • BYU Cougars -175

The odds also tell you how much you can expect back on winners. For negative odds, that’s how much you have to bet to get back $100, such as $175 at -175. When the odds are positive, that’s what you’d get back on a $100 winner – $155 at odds of +155.

Spread Betting

The spread is a number that’s set by oddsmakers on each college football game. It essentially levels the playing field between two sides while making each contest interesting from a betting perspective. This is how a spread bet listing may be presented on the BetRivers Arizona mobile app:

  • Arizona Wildcats +2.5 (-110)
  • BYU Cougars         -2.5 (-110)

You can choose the favorite minus the points or the underdog plus the spread. In order to win, the side you pick has to cover. For our example, BYU covers by winning by three points or more, while Arizona covers with a 2-point or under loss or an outright victory.

Totals Betting

The point total, which can also be referred to as the over/under, does not take into account the winner or the margin of victory. All that matters is the number of points scored in the game by the two teams combined.

Oddsmakers will set the estimate, and bettors then get to choose Over or Under that amount. Totals bets are also often referred to as Over/Unders as a result.

  •  Over 52.5 (-110)
  • Under 52.5 (-110)

For our example, Over bettors want to see 53 points or more scored, while Under bettors will be happy with 52 points or less. College football totals can fall into distinct ranges: Low 40s and under for low-scoring games, 55+ for potential shootouts, and all others in the middle.

Wildcats Prop Betting

Prop bets are additional wagering options on the individual games. You can find what’s available by clicking through on game listings. Props can revolve around the game as a whole or on the individual players and teams.

Some of the legal states have put specific restrictions in place on prop betting for college sports. We’ll have to wait for the final rules to see what’s what in Arizona. If all systems are a go with this style of wagering, you might see examples like:

  • Who will have more passing yards in the game – Arizona or Arizona State?
  • Will there be a defensive or special teams TD scored in the game – Yes/No?

Live betting on the Wildcats

This is real-time wagering based on what’s happening on the field of play. Live betting has been growing by leaps and bounds in recent years. You’ll find it available at all of the top sportsbooks as a result.

Live betting is another area to watch and see if there are any prohibitions in place in Arizona for college sports. Mobile betting apps are the best way to experience all that live betting has to offer. You might see things like the following available.

  • Updated moneyline, spread, and totals odds
  • Bet on smaller segments of the game like quarters and halves

Fisch has never been a full-time head coach before, and his most recent stop in college was in 2017 where he was the UCLA offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and interim head coach. He brought in Don Brown as Arizona’s defensive coordinator and Brennan Carroll as the offensive coordinator.
