Indeed, FanDuel FanFest invades WestWorld in Scottsdale this Saturday.
Weeks after successfully launching in the Grand Canyon State, with both an online sportsbook and a retail operation at Footprint Center, FanDuel Sportsbook has an event to bring Arizona residents together.
While legal Arizona online sports betting has taken the Grand Canyon State by storm, FanDuel now looks to keep the momentum going by bringing Arizonans a fun experience that seems especially ideal for sports fans.
What to expect at FanDuel FanFest Arizona
FanDuel is looking to give back and celebrate through this awesome celebration with the fans. The event will feature exclusive performances from Grammy Award-winning hip-hop icon Nelly and musician/DJ Gryffin.
Throughout the day, fans will also be able to participate in various other activities, including a Q&A session and meet-and-greet with former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin and Hall of Fame running back Edgerrin James.
There will also be interactive sessions with players from the Phoenix Suns and even free-to-play pick ’em games with celebrities and fans squaring off in live challenges.
Fans can also look forward to sports-themed carnival games, food trucks, a beer garden and more.
The FanFest event is part of a collaboration between FanDuel and movie-making company Lionsgate. The celebration will honor the upcoming release of Lionsgate’s film “American Underdog,” which hits theatres on Christmas Day.
The movie is based on the story of Kurt Warner, who rose from being a stockboy at a supermarket to a prominent NFL quarterback. Warner went on to become a two-time NFL MVP and a Super Bowl champion who earned a place in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
Arizonans remember Warner from his five-year stint with the Cardinals. He led Arizona to the franchise’s first, and to this point only, Super Bowl appearance during the 2008 season. Unfortunately, the Cardinals lost Super Bowl XLIII to the Pittsburgh Steelers in an instant classic. Warner played great, but an incredible touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Santonio Holmes in the game’s final seconds shut the door on Arizona.
Actor Zachary Levi plays Warner in the film’s starring role. Both he and Warner will attend FanFest and take part in an interactive Q&A session with fans. They will also go head-to-head in a quarterback challenge for charity.
