Arizona Lottery is resuming sales of statewide lottery tickets after an outage at 11:50 a.m. on Jan. 19. Prize redemption is also back.
According to a news release from the Arizona Lottery, the state lottery officials and Scientific Games are working to resume ticket sales after an outage that halted game sales and prize redemptions.
Scientific Games, the gaming system operator, is working closely with the AZ lottery team.
Arizona Lottery executive director Gregg Edgar said in the release:
”We apologize to our lottery players, our retailer partners and lottery’s beneficiary community. Protecting the integrity of the Lottery’s games is paramount to our operations. We are working diligently to bring our games back online as quickly and reliably as possible while keeping our players, retailers and beneficiaries top of mind. ”
What caused the Arizona Lottery outage?
Scientific Games initial investigation determined that a computer update and installation of two new lottery games caused the system to crash.
Any lottery tickets bought before the outage are still valid. Lottery tickets that reach their 180-day expiration date over the outage window will be honored at the Arizona Lottery offices.
