It’s the biggest jackpot won at Arizona casinos in months.
A lucky winner, who chose to remain anonymous, won $1,316,234.47 on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine, hitting on the progressive jackpot on Nov. 11.
Wheel of Fortune slot machines are usually some of the most popular on the gaming floor at Talking Stick Casino. This one featured a progressive jackpot, which means the payout can be huge, but the odds are low. Talking Stick is linked to 20 other Native American casinos and the jackpot grows with every coin played.
Ramon Martinez, public relations director at Talking Stick Resort, said in a release announcing the big winner:
“It’s incredibly exciting to give away a jackpot of this size. We are all thrilled for the winner and also honor their request to remain anonymous. We wish them all the best as they celebrate their win privately.”
Wheel of Fortune slot win largest since April
To win the mega jackpot on the Wheel of Fortune, players must bet 75 cents and hope to hit the Wheel of Fortune symbols on the moneyline.
According to the Talking Stick website winners page, the $1.3 million win is the largest given out by the casino since April, as far back as the reports go.
Winning the mega jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune machine is like hitting a Powerball or lottery win because of the low odds; essentially, you must win back-to-back jackpots.
Talking up Talking Stick Casino
Since opening in 2010, Talking Stick in Scottsdale has become a fun destination for Arizona visitors and locals. It has a large hotel and an entertainment venue (ZZ Top is coming on Dec. 2).
The casino floor boasts over 1,000 slot machines for players and the offerings are updated weekly; some of the new slot machines on the floor include Devil’s Lock, Coin Trio Fortune and Double Top Dollar.
Listening to players’ needs, the casino shifted its ARENA poker room in July to make room for more slots.
Last week, Talking Stick had another big winner as Melvin A. won 79,000 on a pull on Triple Magic 7s.
