Arizona Social Online Casino

The imminent arrival of legal sports betting may be grabbing most of the headlines in Arizona as of late. There are other new casino games available to play online as well, for fun at least.

That’s because Gila River Hotels & Casinos is now offering guests the chance to play its brand new free-to-play social casino, PlayGila.

Experience casino games from any mobile device

Created in partnership with gaming software provider GAN, PlayGila invites visitors to Gila River properties to play slots, blackjack, roulette, video poker, and other casino games on any mobile device.

The games are for amusement purposes only and cost nothing to play, and players cannot win any money playing them. However, they can earn rewards that can be redeemed at any of the three Gila River Hotels & Casinos:

  • Lone Butte Casino (Chandler)
  • Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino (Laveen Village)
  • Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino (Chandler)

PlayGila features many of the same games found in the brick-and-mortar casinos. Players can reach the site either via a computer or a mobile device and can play them from anywhere.

The PlayGila app is available for both iOS (Apple) and Android devices. Players can download the app directly from the PlayGila.com website or by visiting the Apple Store or Google Play.

Mobile casino games with real rewards

According to Dominic Orozco, chief strategic marketing officer of Gila Rivers Hotels & Casinos, PlayGila is part of a larger effort “to enhance the gaming experience” for guests by offering “a new way to experience the excitement of casino games.”

As the announcement explains, the social casino integrates Gila River’s loyalty program, THE Card.

After creating an account, players link their THE Card accounts in order to receive rewards while playing PlayGila.

Players can purchase coins they can use in the games and earn rewards with Point Play. Later, players can redeem Point Play for free bonus play or promo chips at any of the three properties. Players who play daily can also earn free coins, bonus coins, and discounts on coin purchases.

Is online gambling legal in Arizona?

New legislation expanding gambling in Arizona was signed into law in April, and amended tribal-state compacts received federal approval in May.

The new law will introduce sports betting in Arizona, both retail and online, as well as fantasy sports. It also adds several new games to what retail casinos can currently offer in Arizona, including craps, roulette, and baccarat.

The new law also authorizes online keno as well as a lottery-based draw game. However, it does not permit real money online casinos.

That said, there are several online sweepstakes casinos that currently do serve Arizona players.
